sledding fun

Today we thought would be a perfect day for Baylie to go out and play out in the snow.She wanted to play in the snow since it started falling on Saturday. This morning on the way out to the car for church she walked right through the snow and messed up her pretty shoes ( it is so hard to keep a child looking nice for church.)Dad and Mom bought Baylie a green sled, and we have the perfect backyard for a 2 year old to sled on. It is a slight decline,and not to long. Today was perfect because it was not to cold and the snow was very slick. All I had to do was push a little on her sled and away she went, she kept wanting to do it again and again. I taught her how to make snow angels, and she wanted to keep eating the snow. I tried to explain to her that yellow and brown snow is not yummy, Im not really sure she understood. We had so much fun and I love seeing her face when she gets to try something new. After the sledding fun, we came in to a nice warm house(80 degrees to be exact), and a nice warm cup of hot chocolate. Poor Chris had to sit inside and play with Mason, and not get all wet.

It seems like he is always wide eyed

With all the Thanksgiving and Christmas excitement I have not posted anything for a while, so I thought I would give you an update on both children. Mason went to the doctor last week for his 2 month checkup, this is where they give the child there first round of immunization shots. If your a parent you know just how awful this is. Mason did surprisingly well he gave a bit of a whimper, he received one shot in the left thigh, two in the right, and had to drink another. He is now 13 1/2 pounds which is almost double what he was born at, and is 23 1/2" long. He is growing up so fast. He is so close to turning over right now, and is sleeping almost through the night. He usually can make it 6-7 hrs sleeping. I have realized he is a bit more spoiled then Baylie was at this age. Every time he makes a whimper I jump, but knowing that this might be my last baby who can blame me.

Baylie is just so funny right now, she picks up everything you say, just last night she is saying UM NO or UM yes. I'm not sure if this is how I answer her, but she picked up somewhere. Baylie is playing by herself, she no longer needs me, which makes me sad but I know that is a part of her growing up. She slams her door and stays in her bedroom for a while all by herself. She also has been doing a little hands on the hip thing, i think she picked that one up from Chris :). We have been trying really hard with Baylie going to the potty. One day she does really good, but then the next she does horrible. Potty training is so frustrating, but I'm sure one day it will click. Last night we made hot chocolate for her, and she even was aloud to use a big girl cup. She loved it as you can see in the pictures. She was a bit hyper, I guess I forgot that there was sugar in hot chocolate.

I love having two wonderful children,know matter what kind of day your having they can bring smiles to you face. I just cant wait to celebrate this Christmas season with our family of four.

What a wonderful Thanksgiving

Well this Thanksgiving was such a new experience for us in the Horrisberger household. We had such yummy food, and we got to visit with family. All was going good until about 630 when we finally got home. Baylie told us her stomach hurt, but we really didn't think much of it. Chris and Baylie were down stairs on the couch when she suddenly threw up all over him. Everyone always told me that cleaning up your children's throw up is much easier then cleaning up others. This is so true, all you can think about is if your child is going to be ok and you just plan feel sorry for them. At Baylie's age I'm not sure she really understood what was going on. She would just hold her mouth and say oh no, oh no. We have been very lucky, because this is truly the first time Baylie has ever been sick, and we praise God every day that we haven't had to deal with to many illnesses in our family yet. The one down side of Baylie being sick is she is now scared of the toilet, I guess this is just another hurdle we have to jump over.

Christmas decorating

Well I thought we could make it until after Thanksgiving, but I couldn't. Christmas time is my favorite, and I had to start decorating. So Chris put the tree up, and lights, and Baylie and I started putting decorations up. This year it was so much fun, because Baylie actually understands you when you say "can you please put this ornament on the tree for me." She was having so much fun, I did have to move most of what she did, because she kept hanging everything in the same area, and on the same branch. We had so much fun this afternoon, almost enough to take the tree down and start all over again.

For Baylie's 2ND Birthday, Chris's Mom gave Baylie a Build-a-Bear. She took Baylie to the shop and let her pick out any animal she wanted, and she picked a kitty. The Kitty came home with two cute little outfits, and it even has little underwear. Well the next week she received a Tinkerbell outfit. So She decided her and the kitty were going to wear their Tinkerbell outfits together, while watching the new Tinkerbell movie, the lost treasure. She does everything with her kitty. She Has tea parties, gives the kitty stroller rides, and even makes the kitty go to the restroom. Unfortunately, poor Mason has to hold her kitty, and take picture with her kitty. Oh well at least she is learning to share.

Who would of thought that making a workshop to build Bears would be such a hit. I only wish I would of came up with it. First the child or adult gets to pick the animal they want. Then there is a stuffing machine, where you can pick how plump you want you stuffed animal. There is even hearts you get to put in the bears. Then there is a washing zone, to give you animal a bath ( it is just air to blow off the stuffing). Then you get to pick the clothing, this is where they have to be making all there money. There is anything you can image for these animals. Doctor outfits, swimsuits, dresses, Tinkerbell outfits. Then You register you animal and give them name. Build a Bear is like American Doll but for younger children. I'm just praying Baylie will not get into the American Doll obsession. Ive Heard you can take your Doll to the spa. What will they think of next?

Mason at 6 weeks, he is my little chubs.

A babies first smile, is something you will always remember, and makes the sleepless nights all worth it. Today was not Mason first smile, just the first smile I caught on film. Surprisingly it did not take much effort, all I had to do was smile, and he smiled right back. I think he looks so handsome when he smiles, and maybe I just think this because he is my child. I believe that Mason is going to be a very happy child, just like Baylie, believe it or not there are very grumpy children out there.With Mason time has gone by so fast. It seems like just yesterday I had him, I know it is because I have two kids to run after now. This is just one of the many first that Mason will achieve, like sleeping through the night, his first tooth, crawling, walking, talking and many others. One thing I do have to watch though is that I'm not waiting for the next stage and missing what is right in front of me. I just need to enjoy what Mason is doing right now, because you only get the baby stage once in a life time.

So within the last couple of weeks my two year old daughter has been sporting a bit of a attitude. I'm not really sure if it is because of Mason, and now she is not the center of attention, or is it because she just turned two. She is still really good, but with a bit of a attitude. I'm just loving her age right now, because she is old enough to express how she feels and what she wants. Now I'm just going to have to figure out how do deal with the attitude issue.
