wow! Has it been two years already

It took Baylie forever to open the present, she was trying not to ripe the paper.

October 13th, 2 years ago my little princess was born. I can not believe how fast time has gone. Now she looks huge compared to Mason. It seems like yesterday she knew was turning two, because she was as hyper as I have ever seen her. This morning I decided to give her one of her presents since today is her actually birthday. (We are having a birthday party for her on Saturday). Baylie just loves books, everyone else in a room can be running around and playing and you will notice Baylie in the corner reading a book, making up words. So I decided to give her the a book called monkeys jumping on the bed. She was so excited this morning when she received the book, that all she wanted to do is read it to Mason, and then Jump on her bed. I love getting simple gifts that Baylie actually enjoys. Sorry the pictures are bad, but I'm trying to figure out this camera and forgot to put the flash on..

Right before lunch I told Baylie that we could make some cookies for her birthday. I know how much she loves cookies, but we really did not need more junk food around our house. So we pulled a chair up to the counter and started mixing. Her favorite thing to do was to watch the mixer blend the ingredients together. I always remember my mother letting us help her cook or bake, it was so much fun. The one thing I will say is be prepared for a huge mess. I had sugar in my silverware draws, the coffee make was sticky, and shortening all over the counter top. My counters now look like they have been waxed. I believe the mess is well worth the excitement in Baylie. She also enjoyed rolling the cookies in the sugar. We made sugar snaps, which are really easy and one of my favorite cookies in the fall, especially with a yummy pumpkin, cream cheese dip. After the cookies were done, I let Baylie eat half a cookie before lunch and the other half after. The after lunch cookie was great, she ran around the house with her cookie, all so Molly (our dog) would chase after her. Having a two year old is always filled with excitement and I can not wait for the weeks and months to come. So far the 2 years has all gone to quickly and I'm trying to enjoy ever day with her before she decides I'm not cool anymore.

Baylie thought she was sneaking a bit of dough with out me seeing her. Hahah I caught her.

Baylie helping me roll the cookies in the sugar, what a big helper :)

I think She enjoyed the cookie very much.
